Kenads Printers – helping the environment
We are looking after the environment and reducing our effects on global warming.
Kenads Printers, based in Worthing, Sussex, are very aware of environmental issues and operate a carbon reduction strategy as part of our responsible approach to the environment.
As an established print company we also offer our customers the opportunity to capture the carbon from paper purchases by planting native woodland here in the UK. This is done through the Woodland Carbon scheme and the Woodland Trust.
We only use FSC approved papers from sustainable sources unless a certain product is requested; we recycle as much as possible; we only use vegetable based inks on our printing presses and now all our platemaking is chemical free. In fact, we do all this as standard without the need to spend thousands on applying to use special logos. Caring for our environment should start in the heart not in the wallet.
In the office wherever possible, we use a PDF proof instead of running out hard copy proof and posting them out. Estimates are emailed or faxed directly from our computers.
Kenads Printers help the environment by:
- Recycling waste paper, ink tins, printing plates and industrial wipes
- Using vegetable based inks
- Shredding postal waste for packaging
- Disposing of all hazardous waste by a certified waste company
- Wherever possible we use either FSC or recycled papers
